Barcelona remembers Coderch

The 27th of February at 19:30 the act “Barcelona recuerda a Coderch” took place in Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya, a meeting that will evoke the figure of this architect, one of the main responsible for the postwar local architecture to open to contemporary international trends.

Participate in the act Jaume Collboni, councilor of Culture in Ajuntament de Barcelona; Pati Núñez, author of the book “Recordando a Coderch”; Juanjo Lahuerta, architect and historian of art; Elina Vilá, architect and curator exhibition “La herencia de Coderch”.

Zero line: Antonio Armesto, Antoni Bernad, Oriol Bohigas, Pepe Coderch, Federico Correa, Emili Donato, Silvia Farriol, Carlos Ferrater, Carles Fochs, Ginés Gòrriz, Josep Llinàs, Octavi Mestre, Miguel Milá, Daniel Mòdol, Poldo Pomés, Victor Rahola, Enric Sòria, Oscar Tusquets, Jordi Viola.

Also, was presented the book “Recordando a Coderch”, a choral approach in which different voices that knew him constitute a controversial, contradictory, sometimes gentle, sometimes authoritarian but always brilliant character.

Beyond architecture, it’s about drawing the character through themes as friendship, political ideas, his isolation from the rest of the profession, his demanding character, perfectionism, his bad, but always fair, temper, his genius and, specially, his architecture. Anecdotes shared by the closest ones that contrast with the critical analysis of his works.
