Last Thursday, July 9th, M300, the cultural space of the MINIM group in the bulthaup Barcelona showroom, hosted the second session of the Constellations series. At 7:30 pm, Guillermo López, founding partner of MAIO, unfolded his own constellation: a map of references, encounters, and intuitions that explain who he has become throughout his career. The event came just days after the studio received the 2026 FAD Interior Design Award, one of the most prestigious design awards in Spain.

Constellations is a series of conversations that invites leading studios to explain themselves beyond their projects, through the readings, connections, and intuitions that have shaped their approach to architecture. These first two sessions, with L35 architects and MAIO, confirm the tone the series aims to maintain: intimate, generous, and far removed from a presentation of results.

At the end of the conversation, Cellers Perelada offered a glass of wine, allowing us to delve deeper into the numerous references in close quarters.

About MAIO
MAIO is an architecture studio in Barcelona that works with spatial systems capable of varying and changing over time, offering a clear, resilient, and committed architectural response to the evolving complexity of daily life. It is comprised of Maria Charneco, Alfredo Lérida, Guillermo López, and Anna Puigjaner, who combine professional practice with teaching, research, and publishing: they directed the journal Quaderns d'Arquitectura i Urbanisme between 2011 and 2016 and currently teach at ETH Zurich, ETSAB/ETSAV, and Elisava. Her work has been exhibited at MoMA in New York, the Guggenheim Bilbao, and the Art Institute of Chicago, and she participated in the 2016 Venice Biennale in the Spanish Pavilion, which was awarded the Golden Lion. Anna Puigjaner received the Wheelwright Prize from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
