GOFI, the new contemporary design furniture and lighting brand created by the Barcelona Studio/Goula presented their first collection on october 10th in our MINIM Barcelona showroom.

On the 10th of October, was presented at MINIM, our furniture and lighting of contemporary design showroom, the new furniture brand created by Álvaro Goula and Pablo Figuera’s studio.

In 2015 and in MINIM too, Goula/Figuera presented their first creation: Lines & Dots, a lamp collection that was very well received by the industry. Encouraged by the success of their first product, the designers have come back to MINIM to present their new brand, GOFI which assembled a collection of lamps, tables, chairs and accessories, designed with materials as diverse as marble, glass or wood. In spite of the variety of the finishes, all products share a common language based on the graphic elements and the bold use of colour.
 

Although some of the designs could already be seen on GOFI’s website earlier this year, a chair model and a storage system were showed to the public for the first time at the event. The chair given the same name as the brand, is the first project of this sort that the designer duo is facing. “We wanted a light and simple design, contemporary yet not garish. And the result is a chair built from a circle and a rectangle, whose focus of attention is in the back, a chair’s most seen side, when it’s next to the table”. Didot, the system of modular shelving’s, named after  a famous offspring of typographers from the 18th Century, was built from wooden columns and shelves, over which according to the user’s wishes, a series of colour panels can be placed, that allows you to display or hide the objects in the inside of the piece of furniture.

The exhibition can be visited until the 3rd of November in MINIM, Barcelona: Via Augusta 185. Hours: from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 1.30 pm.
